Tips for Carving your Pumpkin

Good carving takes a good pumpkin and a boning knife works the best for cutting the lid.
For the gooey mess inside try using an ice cream scoop.
Hold the pumpkin so it is looking at you when you start carving the features with clean up and down slices.
Use discarded shell to make a tongue for your creation and keep the whole thing fresh with petroleum jelly.
If you like to keep the lid on when the candle is going, make a chimney for the smoke by making a small hole in the lid.
This one is really great, by adding cinnamon to the inside of the lid your jack-o'-lantern will smell like pumpkin pie.
